How the goals are chosen

Every skill has a level up table on the wiki: everything each level lets you make, wear, fight, cast or reach, and every quest and diary that needs it. That is over four thousand lines, and most of them are things nobody trains for. Each one has been marked by hand as a major upgrade, a minor one, or neither, and only the first two ever show here.

A level is the goal, not the line. 60 Attack unlocks fifteen things; you train for 60 Attack. So every level takes the rank of its best unlock and is named by its major ones, with the rest a click away.

Counting boosts

Switch on max boosts and each unlock moves to the base level the best boost that works anywhere would reach it from: a spicy stew or a pie for most skills, a super combat, ranging potion or saturated heart for combat. 95 Crafting for zenyte bracelets becomes 90, and drops off the list for anyone already there.

A boost only counts where the game allows it. Equipment always checks your base level, so gear never moves, and neither do skill capes or Prayer. Quests and diaries follow the wiki: each quest page marks every skill requirement boostable or not, and so does each diary tier.

Playing as an ironman

The ironman view lifts the unlocks you have to make for yourself: brews, runes, zenyte jewellery, the supplies a main would buy. What it never does is mark gear as an ironman goal. Wearing primordial boots takes 75 Strength on every account; the ironman’s extra goal is getting the crystal, which takes 91 Slayer for Cerberus.

Questions

What should I train next in OSRS?

The closest level that unlocks something you will use. For most accounts that is one of the big ones: 77 Runecraft for blood runes, 81 Herblore for Saradomin brews, 90 Herblore for super combats, 91 Slayer for Cerberus. Look yourself up and the page lists the next major unlock in every skill and how much experience it is away.

What Herblore level do you need for Saradomin brews and super combat potions?

81 Herblore for Saradomin brews and 90 for super combat potions. Both can be made with a boost, so a spicy stew lets you start either up to five levels early.

What Crafting level do you need to cut zenyte?

89 Crafting to cut a zenyte and make a zenyte ring, 92 for the necklace, 95 for the bracelet and 98 for the amulet. All of them can be boosted to.

Can you boost to equip gear in OSRS?

No. Equipment checks your base level, whatever you have drunk or eaten. An abyssal whip needs 70 Attack, and a super attack at 65 will not let you wield one.

Can you use boosts for quest and diary skill requirements?

It depends on the requirement. Every quest page on the wiki marks each skill requirement as boostable or not, and Song of the Elves, Monkey Madness II and Dragon Slayer II allow none. Most achievement diary requirements can be boosted, with a few exceptions marked tier by tier.

What level do you need for blood runes?

77 Runecraft to craft blood runes at the true Blood Altar, which also needs Sins of the Father. The requirement can be boosted.
